ARP Address Resolution Protocol. Protocol for mapping IPv4 addresses to media access control (MAC) addresses; dynamically binds the IP address (the logical address) to the correct MAC address. (Internet Protocol version 4, Networking...)
AS Autonomous system. (Networking)
ATTR Attribute.
AUTH Authentication. (Identity / Subscriber Management)
BFD Bidirectional Forwarding Detection. Protocol that uses control packets and shorter detection time limits to more rapidly detect failures in a network. (Networking)
BGP Border Gateway Protocol. (Networking)
BNG Broadband Network Gateway. (same as NAS, BRAS)
BRAS Broadband Access Server. (same as BNG, NAS)
CEN Carrier Ethernet Network. (Networking)
CERT Certificate.
CHAP Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) is a challenge-response identity authentication protocol. It depends on a combination of CHAP security credentials and a “shared secret” between the requestor (client) and the authenticator (server), and it does not expose a password.

EGP Exterior Gateway Protocol. (Networking)
ENNI External Network to Network Interface. (Networking)
ES Ethernet Segement. Physical or Logical Ethernet domain. When multiple ports over multiple nodes are connected to the same VLAN or VLANs that would be seen as one segment. (Networking)
ESI Ethernet Segment Identifier. Unique identifier assigned to physical or logical ports spanning multiple nodes connected to same Ethernet-Segment. (Networking)
EVI EVPN Instance. (Networking)
EVPN Ethernet VPN, multiple EVIs participating in the same service. (Networking)
FEC Forwarding Equivalence Class used in MPLS and can be equivalent of a destination prefix, destination class etc. (Networking)
FIB Forwarding Information Block, packet forwarding lookup table typically on hardware level such as a Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE). (Networking)
FQDN fully qualified domain name.
FTP File Transfer Protocol.

MSS TCP Maximum Segment Size is a parameter in the options field of the TCP header, which defines the maximum amount of data in bytes that a device can receive in the payload of a TCP packet. (Networking)
MTU Maximum Transmission Unit is a measurement in bytes of the largest data packets that an interface can transmit. (Networking)
NAS Network Access Server. (same as BRAS, BNG)
NDP Neighbour Discovery Protocol (NDP, ND) is a protocol in the Internet protocol suite used with Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6). It operates at the link layer of the Internet model,[2] and is responsible for gathering various information required for internet communication, including the configuration of local connections and the domain name servers and gateways used to communicate with more distant systems.

OOB Out of Band. OoB Management is when devices (switches, servers, firewall) use a dedicated network for their management.
OS Operating System.
OSI Open Systems Interconnection model. (Networking)
OSPF Open Shortest Path First. Dynamic routing protocol intended to operate within a single Autonomous System. It advertises the states of local network links within the AS and makes routing decisions based on the shortest-path-first (SPF) algorithm (also referred to as the Dijkstra algorithm). OSPF is a link-state routing protocol. (Networking)
P2P Peer to Peer.
PAP PAP is short for Password Authentication Protocol. It supports 2-way handshake and transmits the password in plain text.

SSH Secure Shell. Protocol that uses strong authentication and encryption for remote access across a nonsecure network. SSH provides remote login, remote program execution, file copy, and other functions.

STP Spanning Tree Protocol. Defined in the IEEE standard 802.1D, the Spanning Tree Protocol is an OSI Layer 2 protocol that ensures a loop-free topology for any bridged LAN. This protocol creates a spanning tree within a mesh network of connected Layer 2 bridges (typically Ethernet switches) and disables the links that are not part of that tree, leaving a single active path between any two network nodes.
