Subscriber Telemetry

We collect various telemetry from authentication, authorisation and accounting. Some of the things we store are subscriber data usage, session IP usage logs that are linked to Caller Data Records (CDR) and Event logs that describe the most recent subscriber activities.

Subscriber Sessions

/static/subscriber/subscriber-sessions.png

Once a subscriber is authenticated, the Radius Client should send an accounting-start packet to your Virtual Radius server. The accounting start or interim packet will ensure we track an active session.

Sessions expire automatically when several consecutive updates are missing.

Subscriber Data Usage

The records can be queried from the User Interface on the Subscriber Accounts > Graphs tab.

Caller Data Records (CDR)

/static/subscriber/subscriber_cdrs.png

On a subscriber account, you can view CDR Records. These CDR records are current and historical sessions.

Event Logs

/static/subscriber/subscriber_events.png

The logs contain any failures that occured during authenticating a subscriber or during disconnect-message, change-of-authorization processing.

All entries matching severity and facility is uniquely aggregated per hour; the latest update for every hour is displayed.

On a subscriber account, you can view Event Logs.

Credits

/static/subscriber/credit_usage.png

On the subscriber account status, you can see the subscriber's current active credits.

Subscriber IP Logs

/static/subscriber/ipquery.png

As per accounting records from a RADIUS client, we record the IPv4 and IPv6 including delegated prefixes assigned to a subscriber.

You specify the IP Address in either IPv4 or IPv6 format and the time it was reported for abuse, for example. The result would be a list of matching CDR records. The CDR record also is linked to the actual subscriber.

Navigate to Subscriber Management > IP Query.

Virtual / Clients

For every Virtual Authentication Service and RADIUS Client, we store data usage. You can display a graph for the Virtual or specifically for a RADIUS Client.

AAA Client Tag

You can tag specific RADIUS clients, and traffic will be recorded for each tag, which can be seen here. You can only query one tag at a time.

Subscriber Services and Profiles

Data is also recorded for each Service and Profile.

Data Retention Policy

All data we collect is only retained for our defined time periods.
